The Salamander Company is proud to have secured a 6 month season of Madame Zingara at Melrose Arch. Madame Zingara is a travelling dinner theatre cirque developed in South Africa. It's Theatre of Dreams, performed in a traditional spiegeltent, or mirror tent travels from city to city with their troupe of acrobats, elaborate costumes and a four course meal.


The Salamander Company is pleased to announce that Chattels (Events and Infrastructure) has been appointed as the exclusive event infrastructure partner to Melrose Arch for the next five years.  Chattels is South Africa’s leading provider of event infrastructure and will be a major stakeholder in the deliver of the Melrose Arch event strategy and plan driven by The Salamander Company.


The Melrose Emporium

The Salamander Company is delighted to announce a joint venture initiative between Melrose Arch and The Venue – The Melrose Emporium.  The Melrose Emporium will be the beating heart of Melrose Arch’s football festivities throughout the duration of the 2010 FIFA World Cup.  A stylish corporate/private hospitality area is available for hire on the upper level, whilst the ground level will be home to a stylish, café-style bar/lounge open to the public.  A big screen and multiple plasmas throughout The Melrose Emporium will provide visitors with the opportunity to view and celebrate the world’s biggest sporting event in style.  The place to be and be seen!       


2010 Fine Art Collection

The Salamander Company is pleased to confirm that Melrose Arch will be the official home to the 2010 Fine Art Collection. The collection proudly showcases artwork produced by artists from each of the 32 qualifying nations for the 2010 FIFA World Cup™. Original works will be on display at Melrose Arch prior to being auctioned (streamed live internationally) onsite during the 2010 FIFA World Cup.


The Art of Pele

The Salamander Company is delighted to announce that Melrose Arch will be the official home of The Art of Pele. The Art of Pele is the trading style of a project being implemented by Global Concepts & Design. Two distinct collections will be available – graphic designed images as well as original artworks created by the legend. Images include ball strikes, boot strikes as well as his life story portrayed in a visual arts format. Each piece of artwork will be printed into a limited edition of 10 pieces, each one signed by Pele.

Univision at Melrose Arch

The Salamander Company is delighted to announce that Univision, the largest Spanish-language television network in the USA, will broadcast from Melrose Arch throughout the duration of the 2010 FIFA World Cup™.  Univision is one of many international broadcasters secured to broadcast from Melrose Arch as part of the Melrose Arch Global Media and Business Centre.  The Melrose Arch Global Media and Business Centre has been activated to provide a central point for 2010 FIFA World Cup media and business enquiries in Gauteng.



Outdoor Advertising at Melrose Arch

The Salamander Company is responsible for the management of all Outdoor Advertising at Melrose Arch.  In addition to maximizing current inventory a number of new outdoor and indoor sites will be developed providing the highest levels of visibility and exposure for businesses and brands throughout the precinct.




The Salamander Company has brought one of the world's fastest growing water sports to the V&A Waterfront. Coreban, a leading international brand in ‘Stand Up Paddle Surfing’ (SUP), has committed to holding their ‘Series Championship’ on the waterways throughout the V&A Waterfront. 

The championship, taking place on Dec 19th, 2009, will see hundreds of domestic and international competitors racing along the V&A Waterfront canals to capture over 100 000 rand in prize money.


Melrose Arch

The Salamander Company has been officially appointed to execute a range of commercial initiatives to drive incremental revenue for Melrose Arch in Johannesburg. Initial efforts will concentrate largely on the creation of the Melrose Arch major corporate partner and premier event programs, including the development of a wide variety of exciting new event venues, with a major focus on the 2010 FIFA World Cup.

Melrose Arch is Johannesburg’s most prestigious “mixed-used” development precinct. Within its boundaries Melrose Arch plays host to a variety of commercial and residential tenants and provides visitors with an array of international “high street” restaurant and retail experiences.


V&A Waterfront World Media and Legacy Centre

The Salamander Company has secured exclusive rights to deliver a range of services to visiting media and business throughout the 2010 FIFA World Cup at the V&A Waterfront.  Services will be delivered within the V&A Waterfront World Media and Legacy Centre.

The V&A Waterfront World Media and Legacy Centre will provide
“turn-key” solutions for visiting media and business representatives ranging from TV studio/edit facilities through to Conferencing/meeting/business centre services. 

The V&A Waterfront World Media and Legacy Centre is designed to meet key 2010 FIFA World Cup legacy objectives such as increased and sustained visitor numbers and trade and investment activity to/from the Western Cape.
